Perfect for groomed terrain and a bit of off-piste adventuring, the Belle 78 is an ideal intermediate womens cruiser because of its balsa wood core, all-mountain cam-rock shape, and moderate turn radii. Balsa wood is known for its light weight and snappy feel.

They actually stack a bunch of Balsa strings up side by side in order to create that airy, yet damp feeling. If youve ever flown or built a little model airplane, those things are made from Balsa, and youll remember how well those things flew. These days, it seems like there are as many different kinds of rocker built into skis as there are stars in the sky.

Finding the right rocker shape for you and your skiing can be intimidating. Nordica takes out the guesswork with the Belle 78. It simplifies the rockercalled all mountain camrockwhich emphasizes tip rocker (25%) over tail rocker (5%). This makes turn initiation a breeze while the tail holds on to the turn until the skier is ready to transition. The tip rocker also floats a bit easier, and not a powder ski per se, the Belle 78 can rise up a bit in the softer and fresher snow.

The other big buzz these days is a turn radius. Different radii are better for different types of skiing, but when you are making a middle level, solid performing womens ski, you want to keep the radius moderatetoo short and youll be turning constantly, too long and youll have a harder time carving pure turns.
